Softly Falling, Using Your Leftovers!

What do you do with all your scraps? I can be  so lazy, I hate to put them away even though I have a designated place for them. I would prefer to design another card instead.

This card idea was  inspired by a piece of gold foil paper that I cut some Vintage Leaves for another project. The gold splatted Bliss paper behind the Maple Leaf was a piece of paper that got in the way of other splatting. and I used it for a layer under the cut out leaves.

Gailetchiegigidesigns.com
Gailetchiegigidesigns.com

The colored paper behind the leaves was the under paper that protected my design area when I sponged a number of colors on gold embossed leaves for another project. I liked that paper so well, I used it and placed it in the smaller openings of the gold foil paper. I used the Happy Scenes Photopolymer Stamp Set and masked the area around the small leaves and stamped with the Happy Scenes stamp set.

I ran the foil sheet through the new Softly Falling Embossing Folder. I just love the texture it gives to any paper. I added the foil paper with dimensionals and adhered it to a Cajun Craze card base. I tied a bow with gold satin ribbon and used glue dots to attach some metallic gold thread.

Not bad for leftovers!

Now that is important! w fun fold welcome Christmas into your heart-1Here are 2 examples of my card designs for this class. I will also re-introduce the envelope liners thinlits so that each envelope  will have a matching liner to house a finished card.

Awesomely Artistic, A Cased Technique With My Own Twist

A “Go To” stampset, Awesomely Artistic is simply a “got to have it set”. The technique was found on Dawn Griffith’s blog and she took the idea from somewhere else. Whoever said that paper Crafters work in isolation just does not get it!dawns card closed-1

Instructions for the Z Fold Card originally done by  Julie Davidson shown by Dawn Griffith, but that is where it ends. I used those directions for the card template but used my own color selection and design.

Instructions: Take a piece of cardstock  4” x 9 ¾” Line it up on the 1 ½” line on your cutter, lengthwise,   then place the cutter blade on the 3” mark and slice lengthwise to the 71/2” mark.

Turn cardstock to do the scoring. Put the slit toward the bottom. First score line will go from top to slit at the 3” mark then score at 5 ¼” all the way down, last score mark goes from bottom of card to the slit end.

Holding the card starting at the top mountain top first score line and valley next score line. At the bottom of slit the first score line is mountain and the last score line is valley fold.

To decorate you will need :

4 ¼” x 5 ½” this will be card base of Mint Marcaron

Cut (1) each of designer series paper Mint Marcaron 3 7/8” x 2 7/8” and    3 7/8´x 2 1/8”

Cut (2) each of designer series paper at 2 1/8 x 2 ¼”
Cut (2 ) each of designer series paper at 1 3/8 x 2 1/8”

If cut out of cardstock then vanilla or white for stamping on. If using designer paper then you will need to stamp on smaller sizes.

Let your awesomely artistic side shine with projects you make with this stamp set. With an eclectic mix of realistic images and textured graphics, this set is perfect for helping you express your creativity.

Our clear-mount stamps are made of the same high-quality red rubber as our wood-mount stamps, but they’re repositionable. They’re precut and ready to go. Temporarily mount these stamps on clear blocks for stamping, then remove them for space-saving storage. You’ll only need one set of blocks for all your clear-mount stamps (blocks sold separately). Our premium red rubber will last for years and give a superior stamped impression each time. The stamps come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.
