Awesomely Artistic, A Cased Technique With My Own Twist

A “Go To” stampset, Awesomely Artistic is simply a “got to have it set”. The technique was found on Dawn Griffith’s blog and she took the idea from somewhere else. Whoever said that paper Crafters work in isolation just does not get it!dawns card closed-1

Instructions for the Z Fold Card originally done by  Julie Davidson shown by Dawn Griffith, but that is where it ends. I used those directions for the card template but used my own color selection and design.

Instructions: Take a piece of cardstock  4” x 9 ¾” Line it up on the 1 ½” line on your cutter, lengthwise,   then place the cutter blade on the 3” mark and slice lengthwise to the 71/2” mark.

Turn cardstock to do the scoring. Put the slit toward the bottom. First score line will go from top to slit at the 3” mark then score at 5 ¼” all the way down, last score mark goes from bottom of card to the slit end.

Holding the card starting at the top mountain top first score line and valley next score line. At the bottom of slit the first score line is mountain and the last score line is valley fold.

To decorate you will need :

4 ¼” x 5 ½” this will be card base of Mint Marcaron

Cut (1) each of designer series paper Mint Marcaron 3 7/8” x 2 7/8” and    3 7/8´x 2 1/8”

Cut (2) each of designer series paper at 2 1/8 x 2 ¼”
Cut (2 ) each of designer series paper at 1 3/8 x 2 1/8”

If cut out of cardstock then vanilla or white for stamping on. If using designer paper then you will need to stamp on smaller sizes.

Let your awesomely artistic side shine with projects you make with this stamp set. With an eclectic mix of realistic images and textured graphics, this set is perfect for helping you express your creativity.

Our clear-mount stamps are made of the same high-quality red rubber as our wood-mount stamps, but they’re repositionable. They’re precut and ready to go. Temporarily mount these stamps on clear blocks for stamping, then remove them for space-saving storage. You’ll only need one set of blocks for all your clear-mount stamps (blocks sold separately). Our premium red rubber will last for years and give a superior stamped impression each time. The stamps come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.

Brick Embossing Folder Hits the Wall

The Brick Embossing Folder continues to add texture to any card design. I have been experimenting with different color combinations and paper colors in order to come up with interesting texture of the bricks and mortar . It’s easy to make a great impression! Just place flat cardstock in this embossing folder, run it through the Big Shot, and out comes cardstock with a bold textured design. Textured Impressions Embossing Folders make deep, crisp impressions—great for card fronts and accents.

brick folder hits the wallIn this card, I wet the inside of the new Brick Embossing  Folder on the Sizzix side and then used the Crumb Cake Ink Pad to add color to the bricks and mortar. All stamping is done using the stamps from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set.

Both the folder and the stamp set are must haves in my opinion as they are go to products for a fast and handsome card! Let your awesomely artistic side shine with projects you make with this stamp set. Awesomely Artistic Screen Card

I am loving the newest Stampin’ Up! Stamp Sets,  Awesomely Artistic as well as Butterfly Basics.w sending wishes your way open Here is one example of what you can do with these sets in creating a screen card.

To create this card cut a piece of sky Blue Cardstock 10 1/2″ X 5″.

Score at 3 1/2″ and 7 1/8″. Use a bone folder to fold the paper Mountain Valley Style. Cut (3) Tip Top Taupe paper at 4″ X 3″  which will become background for the brick wall .w sending wishes your way flat

Hint: To create the Brick Wall using the Brick Wall Embossing Folder . Wet the inside side that says Sizzix with a baby wipe and ink up that side and place your Whisper White Paper into the folder. you will do this twice so that you can eventually cut 3 sections measuring 3  3/4″ X 2  3/4″.

Using the fern stamps from Awesomely Artistic randomly stamp on all 3 wall pieces in Mossy Meadow and Old Olive inks. Use the samp Off method to give depth to your card.

In Tip Top Taupe Ink stamp off  randomly on all 3 wall pieces with the floral stamp from Awesomely Artistic.

On the first panel using  the Dragon Fly  Stamp from Awesomely Artistic,  stamp directly on the  wall with Black Stazon and then a second time on vellum cardstock. Hint:  to cut out vellum, just cut the wings, turn over and use a small dimensional to attach to the Dragon fly already stamped. This way its body is intact and you get a 3 dimensional effect on your card. Add some white gel pen markings to wings.

In Soft Sky, ink stamp Floral Stamp from Butterfly Basic  Stamp Set with your Always Artichoke and Sky Blue Basic Markers on the last wall panel.

Attach all layers and adhere to base card.

Punch 7 flowers from Itty Bitty Punch Pack , place on stamping mat and use the backside of your piercing tool to create dimension, and add Basic Pearls to their centers.
