The wetlands one year later still is one fo my favorite stampsets. Using the brayer Technique is such a statemen  on a card and brings out the richness  of thecolors used

  1. Creating the beautiful background is easy if you do it one color at a time , Step-by-Step.
  2.
Cut circle for the moon and for the ground from Eclipse™ paper and adhere to white cardstock to mask the Marsh area.
  3.  Ink brayer with the lightest color of dye ink by rolling it across the ink pad. Using a back and forth motion, roll inked brayer across the sky area of the masked cardstock until all of the ink is off the roller.
  4. Roll some more to blend it further.
  5.
Repeat previous step using the second lightest color of dye ink.
  6. Repeat previous step with the darkest color dye and covering only part of the previously inked area.
  7. Sponge along the Post-It™ Note horizon line with the darkest colored dye ink.

Thankful For Crafts, They Make Us Feel Rooted and Serve as Life’s Texture!

Everyone likes to tell stories about happy times, many including the harrowing stories of those who came before us.. Asking questions about the past is a way to bring cheer to your day, and you’ll probably get to hear some excellent tales while you’re at it.

Former Miss America Phyllis George once said,”Crafts make us feel rooted, give us a sense of belonging and connect us with our past. Our ancestors used to create these crafts out of necessity, and now we do them for fun.” Just as these crafts have allowed us to connect to the past, each fall lends itself to remind me to use the rich spices of autumn, the cajun color of paprika, gold of a crushed curry, deep rich peppered browns and of course, the real reds of shiny peppers. Each color, when put together reminds us of life’s textured moments, the times we have spent with those who are no longer with us, to help celebrate the season. Our happy times remembered in the rich colors of life and personalities that we are so thankful for.

This card reminds me of fall’s happy times: playing in crisp falling leaves, families huddled around large tables and finally being able to graduate to them instead of remaining at the little kiddie table from year’s past, laughing, joking, loving and supporting one another, because that is what families should do! So create something today to help you feel connected to your roots. Thankful for Life's Texture
