It’s a SUDSOL Winner . . . Throw Back Thursday!

Sudsol Thanksgiving card winner
Imagine my wonderous surprise finding out that my Thanksgiving Card entry to a SUDSOL Challenge received winner status and a free week of SUDSOL for me!

While some of the materials were discontinued in the last year so that our catalog could be updated, there are many products in our current catalog to help you make a great card to show your gratitude.

Today I will show my gratitude to the hospital staff that will guide me in an arthroscopic knee surgery. I have great confidence in  my Dr.  and my family who will help me through this challenging time.

Halloween Colors in the Wetlands – Throw Back Thursday

The beautiful fall colors of Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Cajun Craze, and Soft Suede highlight this card that uses a new favorite Stampset of mine . . .The Wetlands! The wetlands one year later still is one fo my favorite stampsets. Using the brayer Technique is such a statemen  on a card and brings out the richness  of thecolors used

  1. Creating the beautiful background is easy if you do it one color at a time , Step-by-Step.
Cut circle for the moon and for the ground from Eclipse™ paper and adhere to white cardstock to mask the Marsh area.
  3.  Ink brayer with the lightest color of dye ink by rolling it across the ink pad. Using a back and forth motion, roll inked brayer across the sky area of the masked cardstock until all of the ink is off the roller.
  4. Roll some more to blend it further.
Repeat previous step using the second lightest color of dye ink.
  6. Repeat previous step with the darkest color dye and covering only part of the previously inked area.
  7. Sponge along the Post-It™ Note horizon line with the darkest colored dye ink.
Remove Eclipse™ Paper.

  9. Stamp images with Black ink.

Can it Baby, One More Time!! Try This At Home!

A new technique for me is the can opener. This type of card gets its name because of the way it is constructed. While you can put this on a folded card base, I choose to save some paper and have it on a single piece of cardstock that measures 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. The 1″x 4″ arm is held secure by one brad that allows the arm to swing up and divulge a sentiment beneath! I love the new paper packs of Watercolor Wonder from the new Occasions Mini Catalog going live January 3rd – June 1st and Sweet Sorbet that is offered free if you spend $50 in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog, that can be ordered January 28-March 28.

One thing I really love about these papers is the In Colors for 2013-2014 are highlighted. to give a yummy, muted , water-colored, sorbet feel to your project.watermarked can opener

Thankful for . . . My Sunday Fun Friends!

It is so important never to take your loyal friends for granted. I am reminded of this each and every Sunday when we meet, enjoy a bite to eat and then create cards we might use for an upcoming class or display. Our laughter, loyalty and talent is always on the line and we manage to create outside of the vacuum to our hearts delight. What is the best part of this day is that we can then share our fun with the cards that we teach to others. For these friends, I give thanks and I am forever grateful.
